Mal-PEG2-NHS ester combines maleimide and NHS ester functional groups in a PEG linker. The NHS ester labels primary amines (-NH2) on proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides and other amine-containing molecules. The maleimide provides a separate site for covalent attachment to thiol-bearing biomolecules.
The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media, and DCM is also listed as a solvent. The product has a molecular formula of C15H18N2O8 and a specified purity of 98%.
