Vacuolin-1 is a triazine-based research compound classified as a PIKfyve inhibitor within PROTAC linkers. It inhibits Ca2+-dependent lysosomal exocytosis by blocking lysosome fusion with the plasma membrane, reportedly acting selectively on this process without disrupting other organelles or general endocytic and secretory trafficking. It is used to study lysosomal content release and autophagy modulation.
