Fmoc-7-amino-heptanoic acid is an aliphatic linker for PROTAC synthesis, with an alkane chain bearing a terminal Fmoc-protected amine and a carboxylic acid group. Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protecting group to expose an amine for subsequent conjugation. The carboxylic acid terminus can couple with primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU, forming a stable amide bond.
