Fmoc-5-aminopentanoic acid is an aliphatic PROTAC linker with an Fmoc-protected amine at one end of an alkane chain and a carboxylic acid at the other. Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protecting group to expose a free amine for subsequent conjugation. The carboxylic acid offers a separate coupling site, forming a stable amide bond with a primary amine when activated with reagents such as EDC or HATU.
