Fmoc-4-aminobutanoic acid is an aliphatic linker with an Fmoc-protected amine at one end and a carboxylic acid at the other. It is used in PROTAC synthesis and other conjugation applications.
Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protecting group to expose a free amine for subsequent conjugation. The carboxylic acid provides a separate coupling site and can form an amide bond with a primary amine using an activator such as EDC or HATU.
