N-(Azido-PEG4)-biocytin is a biotin-containing PEG linker with carboxylic acid and azide functional groups. The carboxylic acid group supports amide bond formation with primary amino (-NH2) groups. The azide provides a separate conjugation handle, reacting with alkynes through Cu(I)-catalyzed click chemistry or with DBCO through copper-free click chemistry to form a stable triazole linkage.
The hydrophilic PEG spacer helps increase the aqueous solubility of molecules conjugated to the biotin compound. The reagent is soluble in Water, DMSO, DMF and has a listed purity of 98%.
