Lipoamido-PEG4-acid is a PEG linker combining a lipoic acid group with a terminal carboxylic acid. The lipoic acid portion contains two sulfur atoms joined by a disulfide bond. With activation by EDC or HATU, the terminal acid can couple to primary amines to form an amide bond. The hydrophilic PEG segment contributes to the compound's water solubility.
