Thiol-PEG8-acid is a PEG linker with a thiol group and a terminal carboxylic acid. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer promotes solubility in aqueous media. The thiol provides a reactive site for maleimide, OPSS and vinylsulfone groups, as well as metal surfaces such as gold and silver.
With activators such as EDC or HATU, the carboxylic acid can couple to primary amines to produce a stable amide bond. The specified purity is 95%, with storage at -20°C.
