AMCA azide is a blue fluorescent coumarin reagent for click-chemistry conjugation. Its azide group reacts with terminal alkynes through a copper-catalyzed reaction or with strained cyclooctynes through a copper-free reaction. The fluorophore exhibits a relatively large Stokes shift, high resistance to photobleaching, and pH-independent fluorescence from pH 4 to 10. Limited fluorescence overlap with green- and longer-wavelength-emitting dyes supports multicolor labeling. The product is soluble in DMSO, DMF.
