7-Azido-4-methylcoumarin is a fluorescent probe for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and is used in sensitive assays of cystathionine β-synthase activity. This azide-bearing coumarin also supports click chemistry: its azide group reacts with alkynes through copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc), or with DBCO- or BCN-containing molecules through strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC). Its molecular formula is C10H7N3O2, and the listed storage condition is -20°C.
