t-Boc-N-amido-PEG12-CH2CO2H is a PEG linker with a terminal carboxylic acid and a Boc-protected amino group, placing it within both the Boc-PEG and PEG Acid groups. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
With an activator such as HATU, the carboxylic acid can couple to primary amines to produce a stable amide bond. Mild acidic conditions remove the Boc protecting group to expose the free amine.
