t-Boc-N-amido-PEG6-CH2CO2H combines a terminal carboxylic acid with a Boc-protected amino group through a hydrophilic PEG spacer that supports aqueous solubility. The carboxylic acid can be coupled to primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU to form a stable amide bond. Mild acidic conditions remove the Boc protecting group to expose the free amine.
