Fmoc-N-amido-PEG12-acid is a PEG linker with an Fmoc-protected amine and a terminal carboxylic acid. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer promotes solubility in aqueous media. Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protecting group, exposing a free amine for subsequent conjugation. The carboxylic acid provides a separate coupling site, reacting with primary amines in the presence of activators such as EDC or HATU to form a stable amide bond.
