Fmoc-N-amido-PEG5-acid combines an Fmoc-protected amine with a terminal carboxylic acid on a hydrophilic PEG spacer that supports solubility in aqueous media. This PEG linker provides two functional groups for conjugation workflows.
Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protecting group to expose a free amine for further conjugation. The carboxylic acid can undergo coupling with primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU to form a stable amide bond.
