Fmoc-N-amido-PEG8-acid is a PEG linker combining an Fmoc-protected amine with a terminal carboxylic acid. Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protecting group to expose an amine for subsequent conjugation. The acid terminus can couple with primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU to produce an amide bond. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
