tert-butyl (8-aminooctyl)carbamate is an aliphatic linker for PROTAC synthesis, with a terminal amine and a Boc-protected amino group at opposite ends of an alkane chain. The unprotected amine provides a site for reactions with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, and carbonyl compounds such as ketones and aldehydes. Mild acidic conditions can remove the Boc protecting group to expose the second amine for subsequent modification.
