SIMA azide, 6-isomer is an azide-functionalized dichloro-diphenyl-fluorescein dye for fluorescent oligonucleotide labeling. SIMA has spectral properties similar to HEX, with a higher quantum yield. Azide-alkyne cycloaddition with alkyne-containing oligonucleotides provides a route to labeled primers and hybridization probes for quantitative PCR.
