t-Boc-N-amido-PEG16-acid is a PEG linker with a terminal carboxylic acid and a Boc-protected amino group. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media, and it belongs to the Boc-PEG and PEG Acid catalog groups.
The carboxylic acid can couple with primary amines using an activator such as HATU to produce a stable amide bond. Treatment under mild acidic conditions removes the Boc group, exposing the free amine for subsequent conjugation.
