TCO-PEG10-acid is a PEG-based click chemistry linker bearing a TCO group and a terminal carboxylic acid. With an activator such as EDC, the acid can couple to primary amines. The TCO group reacts with tetrazines through an inverse electron demand Diels Alder (IEDDA) reaction followed by a retro-DA step. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases aqueous solubility.
Its molecular formula is C32H59NO14 and molecular weight is 681.8. Storage is specified at -20°C. Long-term storage is not recommended because TCO can isomerize to the cis form and lose reactivity.
